The largest vehicle-to-grid demo yet

At Guangming Hongqiao Park in Shenzhen, a demo station with 23 vehicle-to-grid piles across 37 spaces has opened as the largest of its kind in the Greater Bay Area. Its peak discharge reaches 2,770 kW. One pile delivers up to 1,000 kW, adding about 400 km of range in five minutes, while others offer 600 kW or 250 to 300 kW fast charging.

A solar-storage-direct-flexible microgrid

About 600 square meters of rooftop panels generate roughly 140,000 kWh a year. Solar, storage and chargers connect by direct current, building a solar-storage-direct-flexible microgrid with all-hours smart operation. The station has joined Shenzhen's virtual power plant centre and claims three national firsts in prefabricated power rooms, liquid-cooled V2G guns and sodium-ion storage.

Lessons for Yantai's charging layers

Extreme public charging solves range anxiety on the road, but most private cars charge at home or work, so slow chargers remain the real base. Dongshang New Energy and Dongdian Huichong build slow charging first across Yantai's districts, then add fast and smart dispatch, keeping steps steady and matched to local capacity.
