Dushupu zero-carbon service area supercharges heavy trucks in fifteen minutes

Yunnan Dushupu zero-carbon service area pairs solar, wind and storage with 1.44 MW liquid-cooling supercharging, giving heavy trucks 200 km of range in 15 minutes.

A zero-carbon skeleton on the highway

The Dushupu service area on Yunnan's highway turns a rest stop into a small power plant. It built about 1.99 MW of distributed photovoltaic capacity, generating roughly 2.5447 million kWh of clean electricity a year, with solar meeting about 72 percent of its own demand. A 50 kW wind turbine and 2,360 kWh of storage round out the solar-storage-charging microgrid.

Extreme fast charging for heavy trucks

Its liquid-cooling supercharging demo station runs at a steady 1.44 MW, giving a new-energy heavy truck about 200 km of range from a 15-minute charge. Three charging stations are in normal operation and have served some 318,600 vehicles with about 8.74 million kWh delivered. In 2025 it joined the Ministry of Transport zero-carbon pilot as Yunnan's first national-level zero-carbon service area.

What Yantai can borrow

For a coastal port city like Yantai, the lesson is to make each station generate, store and dispatch rather than just add more piles. Pairing solar carports with storage and supercharging fits port and industrial short-haul needs. Dongshang New Energy and Dongdian Huichong are bringing this logic down to community carports across Yantai's districts, one steady step at a time.
