What the new fire spec does
Charging safety governance is hardening from soft to mandatory. On 1 May 2026 the China Fire Protection Association's T/CFPA 051-2026 (Fire-Safety Technical Code for EV Charging/Swap Stations) took effect, covering siting and fire separation, facility configuration, and O&M—some grades must deploy emergency-response pods, battery-transfer devices, fire monitoring and ventilation, built on a 'prevent-monitor-isolate-respond-maintain' chain.
The graded project code
At the construction level, MOHURD's mandatory national code (EV Charging/Swap Facility Project Code, comment to 31 Aug 2026) sets differentiated fire standards for stations, swap stations and scattered estate stalls—grading fire resistance and partitions, minimum separation from residences, barring swap-storage in basements and requiring independent fire units with alarm, extinguishing and smoke control in residential garages.
Yantai's compliant shelters
For Yantai community shelters this 'strict oversight' is the build baseline. Dongdian Huichong's shelters meet the specs end to end—non-combustible material, auto cut-off, video and electrical-fire monitoring, property patrols—turning clauses into a daily felt safety floor so scale and safety arrive together at the community.
