Megawatt Supercharging Era Arrives From 1600 kW Trucks To BYD Network

In 2026 megawatt supercharging scaled up: Sishui heavy truck stations hit 1600 kW, Jinan demonstrations run 720 to 800 kW, GAC passed 20,000 guns and BYD built 10,000 flash stations across 332 cities.

Heavy trucks break the megawatt barrier first

The Sishui heavy truck demonstration reaches 1600 kW per gun and Jinan stations run 720 to 800 kW. Because trucks carry large batteries and have short refill windows, they became the earliest megawatt landing point, a real reference for Yantai's port, mining and logistics scenes needing robust power.

Passenger networks pass 7700 stations

China now has over 7700 supercharging stations, with Beijing at 1300, GAC past 20,000 guns, and BYD at 10,000 flash stations covering 332 cities. The data shows supercharging has moved from demonstration to network, yet it stresses grids and demands storage with smart dispatch.

Relationship with community slow charging

Megawatt charging fits highways and trunk logistics, while the community battlefield remains safe low cost slow and orderly charging. Dongshang New Energy lays 7 kW slow charging in Yantai neighborhoods and adds moderate high power and solar storage at public sites for balance. BYD's wide coverage proves supercharging is now a network rather than a showcase.
