Scale is large, quality is next

Xinhua reported the 2026 China Auto Charging and Swapping Ecosystem Conference will be held in Beijing from November 17 to 19 under the theme of connected mobility and digital empowerment. By July 2026 China had 23.683 million charging points, with new energy vehicle penetration at 52.4 percent, and January to August sales of 10.65 million units.

Two highlighted tracks

The summit lists highway solar-storage-charging integration, heavy-truck swapping, zero-carbon corridors and megawatt ultra-fast charging as key topics. In Shandong and around Yantai, heavy-truck electrification is spreading quickly, so local operators must understand trunk-route replenishment and reserve grid and logistics coordination.

Vehicle-to-grid goes to scale

A dedicated forum on vehicle-to-grid and zero-carbon travel points to a clear direction: cars are adjustable distributed storage, not just loads. Yantai residential slow-charging networks could become grid-regulation nodes through off-peak charging and peak discharge as policy pilots advance.

What it means for Yantai: For Dongshang New Energy and Dongdian Huichong, the shift from charging terminal to energy hub means building public fast chargers at key nodes, extending 7kW residential slow charging, and making inspection a trusted routine service. A local partner close to residents matters more than price alone.
