Laizhou charger watch: a local sample of vehicle-to-grid

The next phase competes not on pile count but on availability, usability and trust. Laizhou offers a local V2G sample as EVs turn into storage nodes for the grid.

Laizhou's local V2G sample

From an operator's view, vehicle-to-grid is a reshuffle of business model and service. V2G pushes EVs from 'power terminal' to 'mobile storage unit'; valley charging and peak discharge are becoming a pre-condition for new Laizhou facilities.

Efficiency standard and Laizhou's combo

GB 46519-2025, the first mandatory energy-efficiency standard for charging infrastructure, was released Oct 5 2025 and takes effect Nov 1 2026. Across Laizhou communities, the 'charging canopy plus shared ports' combo is the most cost-effective old-neighborhood retrofit.

From equipment to service, not count

The decisive shift is from selling devices to delivering service. Embedding a single top-up into residents' lives and city operation is what wins in stock competition, not pile count alone or the loudest marketing claim.

Laizhou's sample shows V2G is becoming local reality, and that treating the EV as a storage node - planned and managed - is what will separate forward-looking networks from those still charging one way only. Plan it well.
